Royal Infra Projects surveys, builds and commissions the overhead high-tension lines that carry power from the grid into a distribution network — tower and pole foundations, conductor stringing, insulation and earthing, executed to the approved line schedule and tested before energisation.

What's Involved

From route survey to a live conductor overhead.

An overhead line is only as reliable as the route it follows and the foundations it stands on. We walk and survey the alignment, secure right-of-way clearance, and plan tower or pole spacing and conductor sag-tension before a single foundation is cast — so the line is built once, to specification.

  • Route survey & alignment — ground survey, right-of-way assessment and span planning for the approved route.
  • Foundation & structure erection — tower or pole foundation casting and erection to design loading.
  • Conductor stringing — ACSR/AAAC conductor stringing under controlled tension, with sag verified against the stringing chart.
  • Insulation & hardware — insulator string fitting, jumpers, anti-climbing devices and line hardware to specification.
  • Earthing & protection — tower footing earthing and lightning protection where the route or structure requires it.
  • Testing & energisation — pre-energisation checks and handover under utility permit.

Where a corridor needs to move underground, we handle the full transition — route survey, trenching, underground cable laying and re-termination.

Do you handle the civil works for transmission line towers as well as the electrical stringing?

Yes. Foundation excavation and casting, tower or pole erection, earthing and civil reinstatement are executed by our own crews, with conductor stringing, insulator fitting and commissioning carried out to the approved line schedule.

Can you convert an existing overhead line to an underground cable route?

Yes, overhead to underground conversion is one of our core capabilities, including route survey, trenching, cable laying and the substation or feeder bay tie-in needed to complete the changeover.
